By bridging rehabilitation research with community impact through the "Get in the Game" initiative and the WASA Go app, I work to make inclusive recreation an opportunity for everyone

OUTREACH DIRECTOR

I joined WASA as a wheelchair basketball athlete when I was 16 years old, and it was the first time I truly felt like I belonged. Through adaptive sports, I found confidence, friendship, purpose, and a community where I could thrive. Adaptive sports changed my life, and that experience fuels my passion today. I want to ensure that every child and adult with a disability has the opportunity to discover the same sense of belonging, empowerment, and connection that I found through sports. Whether their goal is to compete at the Paralympic level or simply find a group of people who understand them and become lifelong friends, everyone deserves access to adaptive sports and a community where they can grow, succeed, and belong.

I chose to work for WASA because its mission aligns closely with my values of inclusion, empowerment, and equal access to opportunities for people with physical disabilities. WASA’s long-standing success, particularly through its wheelchair basketball program, demonstrates the transformative impact adaptive sports can have on individuals and communities. I believe that by working with WASA, we can continue to move the needle across Wisconsin by expanding access to adaptive sports and creating more opportunities for residents with physical disabilities to lead active, healthy, and connected lives.

HEALTHCARE OUTREACH MANAGER

I joined WASA because adaptive sports transformed my life, showing its impact on confidence, independence, and connection. As Healthcare Outreach Manager, I promote adaptive sports within healthcare settings, strengthen referral pathways, and build partnerships with providers and community organizations to expand access and ensure it is recognized in rehabilitation and wellness.
